HSS 2023: Summary Report: Environmental Module, Iraq

This report summarizes civilian perceptions on environment in Iraq, and how that contributes to human security. Data was collected in Diyala from 1 to 14 March, interviewing a total of 751 civilians; in Kirkuk from 2 to 18 March, interviewing a total of 682 civilians; and, Salahaddin from 16 March to 3 April, interviewing a total of 712 civilians. This was done in conjunction with our partners, the Iraqi Al-Amal Association and Wand Al-khair Human Organisation.

The summary report shows civilian perceptions on a variety of environmental issues including how they feel pollution will impact their locations in the coming 12 months, to whether water issues have caused social unrest in their areas, to waste collection, and the three most important environmental issues which need to be addressed, among others.
