Literature review on concepts, guidelines, and recommendations for Community Engagement
The PoC team has published a new exploratory literature review on the ideas, guidelines, and recommendations for engaging local communities in crisis and armed conflict. The literature review presents 17 documents that consider the conceptual and practical implications of community engagement for peacebuilders and peacekeepers, as well as humanitarian and development practitioners.
The review forwards recommendations and best practices for a more strategic approach in building trustworthy and mutually beneficial relationships with local populations in conflict settings. The document serves as a guide to recent publications on community engagement in and during armed conflict for civil and military practitioners in the field of international security and development.
