Court orders NL to provide more evidence in Hawija case
Today, on 17 January, the The Hague Court offered a preliminary ruling in the case iniated by survivors of the 2015 Hawija airstrike against the Dutch State.
The judged ordered the Netherlands to provide more and specific documentation around its information position prior to the airstrike. PAX welcomes this decision as a sign that true accountability for military operations is only possible with transparency.
You can read our full commentary on the verdict below. For any questions about this case or PAX's previous research into the impact of the airstrike, please contact Erin Bijl at bijl@paxforpeace.nl.
