Accountability in practice: Examples from ISAF and AFRICOM – PAX PoC Conference 2021

On December 1-3, 2021, PAX brought together PoC partners to discuss three key themes: international support to local security actors, accountability for military missions, and PoC champions in the future of warfare.

On day 2 (theme: Accountability for military missions), Abdullahi Hassan (Researcher at Amnesty International), Chris Woods (Director at Airwars) and Sahr Muhammedally (Director MENA and South Asia at Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC)) engaged in an interactive discussion on accountability in practice, including examples from the multinational military mission in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2014 (International Security Assistance Force (ISAF)) and The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) in Somalia.
